The Region

An exceptional and preserved place

2.5 miles of fine sand, a long beach sheltered by the dunes and wooden palisades, typical beach clubs (straw huts) which have sunloungers for hire, Mediterranean menus and a lounge atmosphere facing the sea… this is what you will find directly to the rear of the campsite!

To the south, the Albères Mountains, the last Pyrenean foothills, plunge into the sea. In the shadow of Canigou Mountain, the symbol of Catalan country, fields of artichokes, tomatoes and vegetables stretch across the Plaine du Roussillon area, as do apricot and peach orchards, not forgetting the grapevines!

To the northwest, the Corbières Mountains punctuate the skyline with high limestone cliffs to which the “citadels of vertigo”, the witnesses of the history of the Cathars (Quéribus and Peyrepertuse), cling.

The Dunes, at Torreilles Beach, is an ideally situated base for exploring Salses (château), Leucate (oyster farming), Rivesaltes and the Valley of Agly (wine), Tautavel (museum of prehistory), Perpignan (Palace of the Kings of Majorca), the rocky coast (Collioure and Banyuls), the coves of the Costa Brava, Le Perthus, Figueras (Dali), and so on.
